1/19/2024 0 Comments Electric muzzle flash png![]() This is my final muzzle flash idea, I decided to go with this design ans it believe it best showed what I was going for in terms of electricity, however the finished product will have and electric particle affect to it as well as the flash to make it more realistic to how the electricity would look, the other reason I went with this design is because from my research I found that electric guns don’t really have a muzzle flash, they have more of a couple of sparks than a flash itself. This design is good as it is the easiest to make out of the three, however it does not suit my as well as the others, its two simple and relates to almost a lot of other muzzle flashes out there, this is not good as I want my muzzle flash to be unique. the first is the simple flash and the second is the streak. It uses two simple assets, both of which are similar to the other but both work well together. ![]() This is my third design which is probably the most basic but at the same time is reliable and fits the gun equally as well as the second. Along with this because the edges are simple it will be easy to model so they should be easy to make and program. this is probably the best design as it fits the electric theme of my gun and also it is not charged burst compared tot he first which is, making it fit my gun even more. the first (1) is the blast itself where as the second asset (2) is the streak that is created by the bullet leaving which drags some of the blast with it. This is the third design which uses two simple assets. This design is fairly good compared to the third but it uses more components than the others, which I am afraid is a bit to much and also the charged part doesn’t really make sense as my gun doesn’t actually charge, it is instant fire. The part labeled 3 is the electricity that is created by the barrel turning. ![]() The part labeled two is the flash itself that is created as the bullet leaves the barrel. This first muzzle flash uses three different components when firing, which is done over two stages, the first is when the gun is charging up to fire so it creates this small ball of energy highlighted by the number one in the picture above. I must also ensure when making the flash in photoshop it is saved as a png and the making it in maya it is exported properly to make sure i can access it in unreal to allow me to animate it and add it to the gun. I also have to make sure it fits the gun right otherwise it will look silly having a small gun with a massive flash or vise versa. I need to make sure the muzzle flash is easy to make along with see, this is is so it isn’t to time consuming as it is only a flash so tis only a small part of the gun. When creating my Muzzle flash I will need to take into consideration is if it suits the design of my gun and making sure the player clearly understands how the it fires and what it fires along with being clear and visible to show what it is to allow good visual feedback to player when he fires the gun. There is nothing I can really say about my muzzle flash which could really offend anyone but I will make it look comic style to allow it to appeal to my target audience better as they are primarily young adults. Other considerations are that my Muzzle flash Ethical I will avoid this by making sure my muzzle flash is different to others that are already out there. When creating my muzzle flash I will need to take into the legal consideration such as copyright. The first image is Winston’s gun from overwatch which generates electricity which attaches to the nearest taste like electricity would and creates an aoe, how ever, on my gun will be attaches to the small teslas at the end of the gun so it wont be creating and aoe or attaching to targets but more creating the effect that it electrifies my bullets itself. I chose these two images to help get an idea of how the electricity itself should look as this will be a particle effect on the end of my gun as well as a fuzzel flash. the first images shows the streak i will try and create and second bears a good resemblance to how I want the the flash its self to be, but this will have to be adjusted slightly as it doesnt match my idea just yet. ![]() I chose these flashes to represent how I want my muzzle flash to look, the light blues in colour would represent the electricity my gun gives off and the way they are both designed shows relevance to how I would a imagine a electric gun would fire.
